In re Discipline of Oheb2/5/2002
ORDER OF TEMPORARY SUSPENSION
Bar counsel for the State Bar of Nevada has petitioned this court to enter an order temporarily suspending attorney Tamir Oheb from the practice of law under SCR 111. The petition is documented with a certified copy of documents evidencing a conviction entered against Oheb on December 15, 2000. Oheb was convicted in the Superior Court of Los Angeles, California, pursuant to a plea agreement, of two counts of solicitation of workers' compensation claims, a felony under California Penal Code ยง 549. Oheb received a jail sentence of 364 days, all but 60 of which were stayed. He was placed on probation for three years, subject to several conditions, including restitution and community service.
Having reviewed the petition and the supporting documentation submitted by bar counsel, we conclude that the petition conclusively establishes Oheb's conviction of a serious crime warranting temporary suspension. Accordingly, we temporarily suspend Oheb from the practice of law and refer this matter to the Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board for the initiation of formal disciplinary proceedings in which the sole issue to be determined is the extent of discipline to be imposed.
It is so ORDERED.
